One of the biggest adoption events of the year will be held Saturday.

Friends of the Animal Shelter will hold a Clear the Shelter Day event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Aiken County Animal Shelter. All adoptable pets will be sponsored and available for no charge during this time.

The shelter is at capacity, and it is hoped Clear the Shelter Day will result in all of the pets on the adoption floor finding forever homes.

“FOTAS and the county staff are working overtime this summer to make sure no adoptable animal has to be euthanized on our watch, but we need the community’s help,” said FOTAS President Jennifer Miller. “Please consider giving a county shelter dog or cat a loving home this Saturday.”

The shelter has many wonderful dogs and cats that just need a chance.

The Aiken County Animal Shelter is located at 333 Wire Road. For more information, call 803-642-1537 option 3 or email info@fotasaiken.org.
