It turns out that Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" is very popular in 2019.

Appropriately, the theater put another Austin classic on stage: "Sense and Emotion", which will open on November 19th, and there will be 18 performances on December 19th.

Director Kelly Seymour said that after a hard pandemic, this vivid drama about the love between the rich, witty, and courteous was the manor’s order.

Seymour said: “After experiencing all the challenges of COVID, it’s really great to produce such a joyous, interesting and romantic work.” Seymour said that the performance was designed to please the loyal “Janet” and modern theater audiences. Adapted from playwright Kate Hamill (Kate Hamill), she is known for her playful and high-spirited attitude towards classic literature. (Hamill also adapted "Pride and Prejudice" in the warehouse.)

The story tells the story of the Dashwood sisters who were deprived of inheritance rights—the sensible Eleanor and the sensitive Marian—and they experienced love and heartbreak during the gossip and reputation of the regency in England. Hamill's adaptation is faithful to the language of Austin. The accent is English, and the costumes allude to England in the 19th century.

But Seymour added that Hamill's adaptation also has quite a lot of comedy. Hamill compares this place to a "playground". Therefore, this work surrounds the stage with gorgeous blue and gold curtains, making the characters feel like they are in a "romantic and elegant circus tent," Seymour said.

Six of the eight actors in the play played multiple roles. At the same time, the stage set is minimalist: two suitcases, three benches and five chairs.

Seymour said that, in short, all the decorations mix tradition and quirky wisdom. For example, the accompanying music includes classical tunes played on a toy piano and an orchestral arrangement of "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga.

Attention viewers: viewers must wear masks. Sponsors must also show proof that a full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed within 72 hours before the start time of the performance or a negative COVID-19 antigen test performed within 6 hours after the start of the performance .
