It is expected that on Friday, October 29, 2021, wind gusts on the coast of Jersey and southwest Jersey will reach 40 to nearly 60 miles per hour.

Police said four participants of the Halloween party were hit and injured by a fallen tree in Middletown on Friday night.

According to Deputy Commissioner Paul Bailey, about 50 to 60 people gathered when the tree fell and hit a large party tent in the backyard of Cooper Road at around 8.20pm.

Bailey said that one of the people who attended the party was taken to Neptune’s Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment. Police said the other two went to the Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, and the fourth person refused to receive treatment.

The police said no one thought it was life-threatening.

"This incident seems to be caused by the high winds that occurred at the time," Bailey added.

Forecasters have warned of strong winds and heavy rain on Friday night, and issued a wind advisory earlier on Saturday.
