BAY CITY — Entrepreneurs Sarah Bridgewater and Morgan Jackson have combined their talents to provide something new on the slumber party scene.

Their business, Happy Glampin Slumber Party Company, provides in-home teepee sleepover parties.

The idea for the business started when Bridgewater, who owns Party Pals, saw how the trend of glamping – glamorous camping with amenities and additional services – had spread in recent years. She began to consider incorporating glamping into to her business, as it was a relatively new concept in the area.

When her friend Jackson, who operates Sign Gypsies Mid Michigan, mentioned a similar venture, the two women decided to combine their efforts and create Happy Glampin Slumber Party Company. The company has been operating since March.

“It’s perfect,” Bridgewater said. “It goes hand in hand with what both of us do.”

Happy Glampin is a party and entertainment service which provides rentals and sets up parties and small group events around the theme of camping. Jackson and Bridgewater can accommodate between two and 12 people from first grade through adult. Prices start at $175, which includes two teepees, air mattresses, sheets, blankets, decorative pillows and a breakfast table. Packages can be expanded, adding on treat bags, personalized items, crafts and more. Jackson can include yard signs from Sign Gypsies and Bridgewater can provide décor and balloon garlands, which she specializes in with Party Pals.

Popular themes that Jackson and Bridgewater have done include boho, mermaids, space and video games. They are also open to suggestions from clients looking for a specific idea. As a new business tailoring each slumber party to the client’s needs, Jackson and Bridgewater often buy materials specifically for a certain party.

“We can do whatever they want. The sky’s the limit,” Jackson said. “We do have different things that we can suggest, but we love the people who have all kinds of absolutely crazy ideas. We’ll run with it if we can.”

Despite its name, Happy Glampin isn’t limited to slumber parties. Jackson and Bridgewater have set up birthday parties, day events and spa parties.

“A lot of them aren’t slumber parties. People just want to hang out,” Jackson said.

In addition to the individual tents, Happing Glampin provides a larger bell tent, which can comfortably fit about six kids or adults. An add-on with the bell tent could be stenciled designs on the lawn. Jackson hopes the bell tent can be used not only for slumber parties but proposals and wedding parties.

Jackson and Bridgewater hope that Happy Glampin can help create memories for families and friends that can last for years, no matter if they’re a kid or adult.

“We’re always bringing joy,” Jackson said. “I can be in the worst mood, and I can go and set up a sign, but my mood can completely change because that person is so excited.”

Happy Glampin Slumber Party Company provides services to Midland, Bay City and Saginaw.
