TikTok's mother and her son live in tents all year round.

The house of Christine and her son Britton does not have a refrigerator, running water or any solid walls.

Instead, the two decided to live in a large canvas tent throughout the year, fighting snowy winters and sweltering summers in northern New York, USA.

This may sound unusual, but Christine won't have any other way.

She shared in a recent TikTok video: "I like to live outside-the scenery and sound are healing-and I like this simple life."

Christine added that she and her son initially moved into the tent to "save money" but soon fell in love with it.

Initially, they lived in a cheap Wal-Mart pop-up tent, which Christine showed in an early video on her page.

"So this is the main area where I sleep," she said, revealing a large inflatable double mattress.

"Next to my bed, I have these plastic drawers, where I can put some clothes and enough yarn to meet the orders I need that week."

In a separate part of the tent, separated by a screen, her little son's room has been arranged.

"This is a cute little room behind the tent. He has two beautiful windows and a partition, you can pull it up to protect your privacy," she shared.

Since then, Christine and her son have upgraded to a 1.5-meter-high canvas bell tent so they can stay outdoors all year round.

In the follow-up video, Christine shared her kitchen setup, which includes a food rack, a bowl for cleaning, and an esky for storing cold food.

She explained that she was washing the floor outside in the summer, but returned indoors in the cold winter.

"I am very satisfied with my upgrade!" She gushed.

"I cook with a propane stove or wood stove."

In other clips, Christine showed himself and his son enjoying life in a tent, and the little boy even learned to chop wood in a video.

"Britton is learning how to chop wood for our matches," Christine wrote.

Despite its healthy nature, Christine's video started to cause some controversy, and some commentators questioned why she wanted to live outdoors with her son full-time.

"I'm not judging, but it's really isolated and tiring for a long time," one person wrote, while another added: "Full-time? I am totally in favor of camping, but I don't think it is a good idea for full-time children. ."

Others questioned whether their living conditions would prompt an investigation by children's services, and Christine replied: "Well, there is no negligence or abuse, so."

Several commentators defended Christine’s living arrangements,

"You all need to wake up and realize that just because you don't agree or understand it-doesn't mean it's wrong, they live in nature, it doesn't matter," one user said.

"If my parents said'we are always camping now' when I was a child, I would be irritated," the others interjected and added.
